VOLUNTEER
Community Living Brant values volunteers as an important community resource. Your skills and interests can be used to help enrich the lives of
those who are participating in our services or to provide administrative
assistance.
Volunteers include:
- High School Students
- Executives
- Retirees
- New Canadians
- Young mothers and fathers
- Seniors
- Business men and women
Volunteers find offering their time and energy is a meaningful experience. They find themselves learning and growing in their knowledge and friendships as a result of volunteering. The role of a community living volunteer is as different and varied as the volunteer themselves.
A few ways volunteers are giving their time include:
- Spend time with a person and connect them to their community
- Share a skill or talent with a person or small group
- Share your time and interests with someone ie. walking, biking, swimming, theatre, crafts, sporting events
- Make it possible for someone to experience new things
- Assist with fundraising events
- Committees/Board of Directors
Volunteer Role Descriptions
Even if you can't volunteer your time, you can still help!
- Become informed about issues affecting people who are labeled with a developmental disability and tell your friends and family what you have learned
- Remember that all people have the ability to be good friends, neighbours, and employees
- Encourage others to give people a chance to demonstrate their skills and abilities
To learn more about how to volunteer, please email Stephanie Bennett or call 519-756-2662 ext. 222.
